Now it is time to explore more of what Japan has to offer, outside of Tokyo. We've ventured out to Kyoto, Japan and what a beautiful sight it is! We wanted to start the day early as Tamiko had a scheduled photoshoot in a rented kimono, and continue to sightsee taking in all of Kyoto's beauty.
Tamiko's photoshoot was located in the Higashiyama District, along the lower slopes of Kyoto's eastern mountains, where you can visibly see the splendiferous Kyoto Temple, up close and personal! There's also Starbucks Coffee Kyoto Ninenzaka Yasaka Chaya, the world's first Starbucks store in a traditional Japanese house with tatami seating. You can view our reel on instagram with all of its dreamy Japanese aesthetic.
Meeting photographer, Kanetsu, at Yume Kyoto Kadaiji Kimono Rental, was the perfect blend of joy, comfort, excitement, warmth and butterflies all wrapped into one. Kanetsu immediately make you feel at ease, and like the prettiest girl in the room.
A very colorful kimono with bold colors and a matching belt, that complimented the saturated colors in the kimono, was definitely the way to go. Tamiko followed every direction from Kanetsu to nail every shot you will see below.
You can view our reel on instagram watching Tamiko get dressed in her beautiful kimono at Yume Kyoto Kadaiji Kimono Rental, located in the Higashiyama District.
When traveling to Japan, you must take in all of its culture, and that includes dressing in a kimono for the day, walking around in town. It was one of the best experiences that will have a lasting memory for a lifetime.
We've brought back an authentic Traditional Japanese Kimono that's available on A Wanderlust Home.
Stay tuned for Vol. 8 and Vol. 9 ...
